Hello and welcome! My name is Philippa and I'm a second-generation home educator. 

This site is a result of following the American High School Diploma route with my secondary-school aged children. No, I'm not American but rather I have come to appreciate the flexibility and joy of the approach in contrast to doing UK GCSEs.

My older two children 'graduated' in 2025 with High School Diplomas and began the first rungs of their working life ladder. Having never been to school or even needed to set an alarm clock regularly much before the age of 16, rest assured that they still adapted well to early starts five days a week for work.

I'll be updating information as I follow this route with my younger two children and continue to learn how to build an individualised education for each.

My hope and prayer is that the content of this simple website is a blessing as you home educate your child/ren and helps answer many of your questions about using the High School Diploma path.
